Endless Heat Seal Bands for VFFS & Band Sealers
Buy endless heat sealing bands made to order in the UK. We manufacture stainless steel and high carbon steel sealing bands (also called heat seal tape) from 3mm to 150mm wide, plain or PTFE coated in-house at our Huntingdon facility.
Band Types and Materials
Every band is an endless welded loop, made to order to fit your machine. Choose the material and finish to match your film and running speed.
Stainless steel bands
The standard choice for most VFFS and continuous band sealing applications. Durable, corrosion-resistant, and suitable for high-temperature sealing up to around 400°C when run uncoated.
High carbon steel bands
Higher tensile strength for heavy-duty sealing applications where the band is under greater mechanical stress.
PTFE coated endless heat sealing bands
We coat our bands in-house with PTFE to prevent film adhesion during the sealing process. The non-stick surface means less residue build-up and fewer changeovers. Rated for sealing temperatures up to 260°C (the working limit of PTFE).
Nichrome bands
For applications where the band itself needs to generate heat. Used in specific continuous sealing configurations.
Sizes and Specifications
| Specification | Detail |
|---|---|
| Width range | 3mm to 150mm |
| Materials | Stainless steel, high carbon steel, nichrome |
| Coating | PTFE (applied in-house) |
| Operating temperature | Up to ~400°C uncoated; up to 260°C PTFE coated |
| Configuration | Endless (welded loop) |
All stainless steel heat sealing bands are manufactured as endless loops, welded to the exact circumference your machine requires. For high-temperature applications above 260°C, we supply uncoated bands. Send us the machine details or the old band, and we'll match it.
Machine Compatibility
We supply bands for all major VFFS and continuous band sealer manufacturers:
- Ishida
- Ilapak
- Rovema
- Sandiacre
- Bosch (Syntegon)
- Chaffee
- GEA
- Hayssen
- Velteko
- Matrix
- GIC
- Ulma
Your machine not listed? We are a UK manufacturer and make every band to order, so if it uses an endless heat seal band we can make one to fit. Send us the dimensions, or the old band, and we will match it.
PTFE Coating. Done In-House
Unlike most band suppliers, we coat our own bands on site in Huntingdon. The band is manufactured, coated, and quality-checked by the same team. Full accountability from manufacture to coating, with no extra lead time from subcontracting.
PTFE coating prevents packaging film from sticking to the band surface during sealing, which extends band life and reduces downtime between changeovers.
Lead Times and Ordering
| Type | Lead time |
|---|---|
| Plain bands (uncoated) | 2–3 weeks |
| PTFE coated bands | 4–5 weeks |
To order, send us the band dimensions (width, length/circumference, thickness) and material. Or send us the old band and we'll measure it. If you know the machine make and model, include that. It speeds things up.
Frequently Asked Questions
What width heat seal bands do you supply?
We manufacture bands from 3mm to 150mm wide, in any circumference your machine requires.
Can you copy my existing band?
Yes. Send us your worn band and we'll measure the width, circumference, thickness, and material, then make you an identical replacement. If you know the machine make and model, tell us and it speeds things up. You don't need a drawing.
Which VFFS machines do your bands fit?
All major VFFS manufacturers, including those listed above. If it uses an endless band, we can supply it.
What is the difference between plain and PTFE coated bands?
Plain bands are uncoated stainless steel or high carbon steel. PTFE coated bands have a non-stick coating applied to the sealing surface, which prevents packaging film from adhering to the band. Coated bands give cleaner seals and require less maintenance.
What temperature can heat seal bands withstand?
Uncoated stainless steel and high carbon steel bands suit high-temperature sealing up to around 400°C. PTFE coated bands are rated to 260°C, which is the working limit of the PTFE coating. If your application runs hotter than 260°C, we supply uncoated bands to suit.
How long do heat seal bands last?
Band life depends on the application (running speed, film type, sealing temperature, and machine condition all play a part). PTFE coated bands generally outlast uncoated ones because the non-stick surface reduces wear from film adhesion.
What is the lead time for coated bands?
Plain bands take 2–3 weeks. PTFE coated bands take 4–5 weeks because the coating process adds time after the band is manufactured. Call us if you need faster. We'll see what we can do.
Need Replacement Bands?
Tell us the machine, the size, and whether you want them PTFE coated. We'll quote and manufacture.
