Sealing Jaws & Sealing Bars made and recoated in the UK
The metal's usually fine. It's the coating that's gone, and a sealing jaw that's started picking up film will cost you a morning in changeovers long before it costs you a new one. We make the PTFE-coated bands, the heated elements, and the cover tapes that do the sealing. We'll also strip and recoat the jaw you've already got, in our own shop in Huntingdon. Tell us the machine, or post us the worn part, and our engineers will match it.
What We Make for Sealing Jaws and Bars
We don't make jaw castings. That's not what we're for. What we make is the part that does the work: the band, the element, and the non-stick face that meets your film. That's the bit that wears out, and it's the bit you keep buying. So it's the bit we got good at.
PTFE coated sealing bands
Endless welded loops for the rotary and continuous jaws on VFFS and band sealers. Stainless or high carbon. We coat them ourselves, in the same building we make them, so nobody's blaming anybody else when one comes back wrong.
Heated sealing elements
Flat ribbon and nichrome, for the heated jaws on flow wrap and the seal bars on vacuum and impulse machines. Made to your seal length and your resistance, not to a catalogue.
PTFE cover tapes and covers
The non-stick face. Cut to fit your jaw or bar, so film lets go cleanly instead of dragging and tearing.
Sealing jaw recoating
Send us the tired jaw. We strip it back, recoat it in PTFE, check it, and send it home sealing the way it did when it was new. Usually a fraction of what the OEM wants for a replacement.
What a Sealing Jaw Is Actually Made Of
Three parts do the work, and only one of them is the casting. Here is where the bits we make sit, and which one gives up first.
Why We'd Rather Recoat Your Sealing Jaw Than Sell You a New One
A sealing jaw that drags, sticks, or leaves a scorched line down the seal has usually got nothing wrong with it. The steel's straight. The geometry's right. What's gone is the few microns of PTFE on the face, and once that's worn through, film grabs, packs get rejected, and your operator starts babysitting a machine that used to run itself.
So we recoat it. The jaw comes in, we strip the failed coating, prepare the face, put fresh PTFE on it, and check it before it goes back on the van. We're not posting it out to a coater and adding three weeks, because we coat our own bands and elements in the same shop. One team. One lead time. And if we think a jaw is genuinely past it, we'll tell you that too, rather than take your money and send you back the same problem.
Which Sealing Jaw or Bar Part Yours Takes
| Machine and jaw type | Part we supply |
|---|---|
| VFFS rotary sealing jaws | PTFE coated endless sealing bands |
| VFFS box-motion / intermittent jaws | Flat sealing elements and PTFE covers |
| Flow wrap crimp and fin jaws | Heated elements and PTFE recoating |
| Vacuum packer seal bars | Flat ribbon and round wire elements |
| Impulse and bench seal bars | Nichrome impulse elements and PTFE cover tape |
Not sure? Send a photo of the worn jaw, or just tell us the machine and the model. We've seen most of them.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you supply complete sealing jaws?
Not as a rule. We make the bands, elements, and covers that go on the jaw, and we recoat worn ones. That's what most people ring up about. If you do want a complete assembly, ask and we'll source it. Most don't.
Can you recoat my worn sealing jaws?
Yes. Post it to us, we'll strip it, recoat it in PTFE, and send it back sealing clean. Fraction of the price of a new one.
Do you make parts for Ishida, Ilapak, and Rovema sealing jaws?
Those and most others, including Bosch (Syntegon), Sandiacre, Hayssen, and GEA. It's all made to order, so if your sealing jaw runs a band, an element, or a PTFE face, we'll make it fit. Tell us the machine and the model.
What's the difference between a sealing jaw, a seal bar, and a sealing band?
Same job, different machines. On a VFFS or flow wrapper it's a jaw. On a vacuum or impulse sealer, a bar. The band is the endless coated loop that runs round a rotary or continuous jaw. We make the wear parts for all three.
How much do sealing jaw parts cost?
Depends on the part, the size, and the material, so we'll need to see it. Send the machine, the old part, or a photo, and you'll get a price. We make what we sell and we sell it direct, which is why we come in under the OEM.
How long does it take?
Plain bands and elements, 2 to 3 weeks. Coated parts and sealing jaw recoating, 4 to 5, because the coating adds time. If you're stood there with a dead line, ring us. We'll see what we can do.
Worn Sealing Jaws or Bars?
Send us the machine, the old part, or a photo of it. We'll tell you what it needs and what it costs. If it can be recoated, we'll say so.
